Diving "The Haven" Some More.

Buddy :- Steve Todman. Start Code :-A. Max Depth :- 15m.

I was a bit dissapointed at first that we were going back to Port Skerra already, to dive "The Haven" again. It had only been one week since I had been here last and having to drive 40 miles to dive the same location was a little irksome. However as I was still a novice I went with the flow. My buddy this time was a bloke called Steve Todman who at the time was only an aquantance of mine of roughly 6 Months and if you ever read this Steve I hope you, and your family, are happy and well. Anyway myself and Steve followed much the same path as myself and Nick had the week before. Once again "flying" over the cliff, with the same thrill of excitement from the previous week thou not as scary this time :). Through the arch which was still a little awe inspiring and round the headland to the natural harbour which is Port Skerra. With the tide being low the deepest part of the dive was under 15m compared to 17m of the week before. On the way back around the headland however we deviated from the course we had taken the previous week. In this area the seabed is a jumble of large rocks varying from car size to van size leaving "channels" to swim through between them with other outcroppings from the seashore and the natural wall which contains the harbour and through which the arch passes. At some point we had taken a right turn instead of left and although we wern't strictly speaking lost nor did i know exactly where i was located. I knew from my compass and other calculations that i was not in any immediate fear of swimming out into the deep blue yonder never to return so camly continued with the dive.Due to the "maze" of rocks and channels on the bottom we decide to surface to get our bearings as our air was beginning to get low anyway and fin on the surface to the slip and head for the pub once more.On the whole an enjoyable dive and a good way to spend a sunday.
